Pete Rozelle would be proud . . .

. . . as parity seems to reign in today’s NHL - especially in the Eastern conference where the top 10 teams are seperated by only 10 points. To us, it’s great . . . hard working players can help shift the balance of power. A “superstar” doesn’t seem to dominate the outcome of games as much as they do in other sports.

Not to say that an Ovechkin or Crosby can’t really put the hurt on you. It’s just that we like the idea that your 4th line has a better chance of competing with said superstar than a benchwarmer in football or baseball making an impact in a game head to head against a Tom Brady or a Mariano Rivera.

Then again, I think this fella from the Macomb Daily (Michigan) also makes some valid points.

Let us know what you think because who cares about just one opinion. As Mark Twain said, “It were not best that we should all think alike; it is difference of opinion that makes horse-races.”
