Monday, February 5th, 2007 - The “Non-Socially Conscious Doc” Always Get Screwed
Tuesday February 6, 2007
John: Got rejected from the Garden State and Ashland film festivals today. Douchebags. We’re still 4 for 9 though and batting .444. Not bad.
It’s weird which festivals you get into and those you don’t. I think some festivals prefer socially consciousness films and since ours isn’t about conflict in a foreign land or injustice toward Vikings, it might not fit their agenda.

What we set out to do was try to educate and entertain because watching the news can be depressing enough. We’re not advocating ignoring world events and issues. We just think a break from it is healthy. People bust their asses at their jobs and want to get away from it all occasionally. Hopefully our movie helps to do that. In that way, I guess it is socially conscious. Thank you.
Brad and I had a conference call with our cousin Evan who is doing our website.

He told me he is marketing himself as the coolest guy in the world:

It is progressing. He’s up to #4232. Just leapfrogged Clayton, Jugdish and Lonnie from Animal House.

Seriously, though, we figured he is the guy you want to do your website. He’s really talented and done a lot of cool work so we are pumped to see what he comes up with.
HBO called us today.

They heard we have a lot of footage of Barbaro. See what happens.
Our friend Bill Denver who is the track photographer at Gulfstream Park in Florida and Monmouth Park in Jersey is helping us by giving us some of his photos. Will help our graphics and website immensely. Here’s Bill’s website.
Posted the last of our Barbaro YouTube clips this week. People are really digging them and letting us know about it. Good to know people appreciate them. Here is a link to the YouTube clips:

Brad: run. edit. Pretty much a boring day, but it was really nice out.
